The time when Texas Hispanic Community started learning about insurance
As one of only a few insurance agencies catering to the Hispanic community, our services were in dire need as the community around him began to grow. That was when Mr. & Mrs. Al Villasana opened the doors to Northwest Insurance Agency. Texas has known this great demand, enjoying quality insurance investment products and outstanding customer service since 1970.
As Texas continued to thrive, more generations get familiarized with insurance coverage benefits after being educated by someone they could trust. Al made an unforgettable impression on his new clients with his baritone voice and friendly nature. He gained their trust almost immediately.
As years passed, Al would continue these relationships as “the insurance man” while being a soccer coach, fill-in crossing guard, and community leader.

Al is a firm believer in hard work and has instilled this trait in his two sons, Mark and Eric. After school and on weekends, Mark would go to work for his father at the insurance agency. It was during this time he truly learned how to communicate in a business environment. During this time, his father emphasized the power and necessity of education in today’s society.
Mark took his education seriously and graduated with a degree from Southern Methodist University. Now Al has given his son the opportunity and the ability to run his own company. Mark picked up where his father left off, giving back to the community what the community has given them – trust and loyalty.

Al/Esther Villasana
Founders
Al and Esther are the original proprietors of Northwest Insurance. Started in 1970 out of their garage, Al/Esther have spent their life working to build Northwest Insurance agency into a legacy their children could continue. It was with them in mind that Al hustled to gain the trust and loyalty of the DFW area insurance clientele. Leaving the business for a time in the 90’s, Al and Esther were forefront in giving their son’s Mark and Eric all the necessary tools to build upon their knowledge upon reopening in 1996. There is no Northwest Insurance Agency without Al and Esther. Al has since retired but his footprints are all over Northwest Insurance Agency.
Mark Villasana
Agency Owner/Principal
Agency principal Mark Villasana has been a licensed insurance agent since 1996,the year he and his brother Eric opened Northwest Insurance Agency. He has overseen the growth of Northwest Insurance Agency since its birth out of a family owned home to its current location. Since that time Northwest Insurance has seen it’s client list grow to thousands of satisfied Northwest Insurance Customers. Mark’s entire life has been dedicated to his children Adelaide, Charlotte and Seth. He is married to his lovely wife Courtney and has had the pleasure of adopting her daughter Mia as one of his own. Mark’s main focus is on growing the Villasana/Northwest family one client at a time.
Misty Villasana Alvarado
Office Manager
Misty has been with Northwest Insurance Agency since it’s inception. She is well versed in both personal and commercial lines of insurance. Misty takes pride in being able to place difficult risk in the right markets and to make sure all underwriting guidelines are followed and commercial contracts for sub contractors are in line with all regulations. Misty is a Villasana and has carried her family credo of “family comes first” to her husband Manny and two sons Noah and Andres.

We are sad to announce that on March 13th 2022, our beloved Mary Lou succumbed to cancer after a long courageous battle. Mary Lou was more than an employee, she was our family. We will honor her memory by giving all of our clients the best customer service possible.
